The ticket

You require a valid ticket for trains and busses. A ticket for the bus is obtained from the bus driver directly. A train ticket is obtained at the ticket machines or at the travel centres at the train station. If you are going to use both the bus and the train on your journey, you require only one ticket for the train and the bus. You can buy this ticket from the bus driver as well.

Single ticket (Einzelfahrkarte)

A single ticket is valid for a single journey on the chosen route. On short routes, it is valid for a maximum of 2 hours after purchase.

Day ticket (Tageskarte)

A day ticket is valid for one person. With this ticket you can travel on the chosen route as often as you like.
Note: Please enter your name on the ticket.

Small group ticket (Kleingruppenkarte)

The small group ticket is valid for up to 5 people. With this ticket you can travel as often as you like on the chosen route on one day.
From Monday to Friday, you can travel with the ticket from 9am until 5am on the following day. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the small group ticket is valid from midnight.
Note: Please enter the names of all travellers on the ticket.

Tip: Up to 3 children under the age of 6 can travel with you for free if you have validated a single ticket, a day ticket or a small group ticket. Children and youths between 6 and 14 years of age require a single ticket for children.

Attention: You will need a valid ticket before boarding the train. If you fail to show a valid ticket upon request, you will be charged an extra fine of 60€.
